Andersen was one of the Big Five accounting firms based in Chicago, IL, providing audit, tax and advisory services. Arthur Andersen founded the firm in 1918. In 2000, Andersen Consulting separated from Andersen Worldwide, and later became Accenture. Arthur Andersen was rebranded as Andersen. In 2002, Andersen had revenues of $9.3 billion and 85,000 employees. In 2002, Andersen surrendered its audit license after criminal charges against the firm, eventually dismissed by the US Supreme Court.
