Senior Accountant - Chicago

JPMorgan Chase in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a high energy, self starting senior accountant within Corporate Real Estate Accounting.

The Senior Accountant will be integrally involved in the accounting activities of the Corporate Real Estate group with responsibilities including:

• Responsible for the month-end close process, including developing estimates and the posting of journal entries to the general ledger
• Prepare accurate financial reporting for management on a timely basis for the balance sheet and the income statement
• Investigate variances in account balances and provide explanations
• Monthly reconciliation and certification of monthly balance sheet accounts
• Assess and update/create accounting procedures and workflow to ensure adequate documentation of the month-end close process
• Assist in preparation and improvement of monthly accounting package
• Establish and maintain relationships with finance and operations groups in Corporate Real Estate as well as Line of Business contacts
• Assist Finance team in creating annual budgets and updating mid-year forecasts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Minimum 4-7 years of accounting experience working in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in an environment that requires attention to detail.

Technology Requirements:

• Experience with automated financial systems (SAP), database management, worksheet-modeling tools (Excel, Access), and Essbase experience preferred.
