The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Director for our Strategic Procurement Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary:
Negotiating national contracts with vendors for goods and services while working closely with TWC Regions and Corporate Departments

Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for ensuring long-term stable sources of supplies and services at lowest cost and highest quality by directing contracting and negotiating process with vendors of goods and services.
2. Recommends policies regarding utilization of minority and female-owned businesses; develops and disseminates procedures and information regarding location, availability and quality of minority and female-owned businesses.
3. Interacts with various levels of TWC Management, corporate departments and Regions to communicate corporate strategic procurement goals, objectives and procedures.
4. Must be able, through diplomatic and consensus forming skills, to coordinate unified actions on behalf of TWC Regions
5. In dealing with vendors and company units, absolute adherence, in action and appearance, to the highest standards of impartiality and integrity is critical.

Job Requirements:
1. Maintains numerous contacts with industry representatives, vendors, TWC Corporate & Division management, representatives of civic groups, minority organizations and purchasing and materials management peers at other cable industry companies / MSOs.
2. Significant financial impact on TWC as a result of volume and size of contracts negotiated for goods and services.
3. Budgetary authority and responsibility demands a high degree of ability to make independent judgment decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:
-College degree required; advanced degree preferred in engineering or business-related fields of study
-Requires a minimum of five years managerial experience with at least two years of procurement or related contracts negotiations experience.
-Requires in-depth familiarity with Enterprise Resource Software such as PeopleSoft, Oracle or SAP. Must have deep expertise with MS Office Software, particularly MS Excel.  Must have direct experience with Reverse Auctions, Requests for information, quotes and proposals

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Travel Requirements:
Travel 10%
