This temporary 4-days per week position requires the consultant to be based in Torrance, CA, and there is NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE available.

To make your mark as Six Sigma / Kaizen Black Belt Consultant you will:
 

  • Manage multiple quality improvement projects (3-4 at a time).
  • Act as a quality improvement technical expert, training, coaching, and mentoring Green Belts and Project Leads.
  • Promote the use of the latest/most effective quality and lean methodologies for cost measurement and productivity.
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent use of Process Improvement methods and standards.
  • Coordinate "Voice of the Customer" exercises to identify target settings for the process (the ideal state).
  • Assist teams in developing Critical to Quality (CTQs) characteristics based on customer requirements by which the success of the project will be measured
  • Lead cross functional teams to gather information surrounding the current work processes to clarify problem definition and break down process problems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the use of critical root cause analysis tools and help project teams and management develop effective root cause hypotheses.
  • Lead project teams in measuring process data to confirm validity of root cause hypotheses.
  • Lead project teams in the development of effective countermeasure to the problems identified.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the use of countermeasure risk analysis tools to help project teams develop efficient and effective countermeasures.
  • Ensures that approved recommendations/initiatives are implemented and monitors results to measure if desired benefits are realized.
  • Ensure process owners and functional leaders are provided the business support required to develop and to implement process changes.

TFS is looking for individuals with strong business sense and practical expertise. Successful candidates should have:

  • Knowledge and experience with operations excellence concepts and tools such as value stream mapping, business process re-design, kaizen, continuous improvement, lean thinking, modeling and simulation, cycle time reduction, etc.
  • Technical mastery of quality improvement skill such as Voice of the Customer, CTQs, Root Cause Analysis, Visualization, process mapping, Lean and process management.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and mentoring skills
  • Proven ability to influence others and drive meaningful change results
  • Detailed oriented person with strong leadership experience willing to take on a challenge.
  • Demonstrated effective writing, public speaking, and training skills; ability to prepare written materials and reports.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate leadership, high personal standards, a high degree of creativity, ability to develop intellectual capital.
  • Candidate must have strong lateral management and persuasive skills
  • Candidate must have the enthusiasm, ability, and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment that requiring all team members to multi-task and work "hands on" developing and implementing the framework for quality.
