Private Equity Accountant - Alternative Investments

The Opportunity
This position will support the private equity fund of fund product line with the potential to work on other areas in the alternative investment group. The position will allow for the candidate to assume ownership for many of the funds on the platform with the opportunity to interact and work with senior members of the Alternative Investments team as well as the Private Equity investment team.
Responsibilities include:
- day to day administration of several funds, working closely with each funds' administrators to ensure all work is completed timely and accurately
- interfacing directly with each of the funds' external auditors and tax professionals as well as work directly with the funds' administrators to manage the process of completing annual audits, tax returns and distribution of schedule K-1s.
- communicating with the management of the General Partners of the funds in which we invest.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor"s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- 4-6 years experience in Alternative Investment Administration required (experience working for a big four public accounting firm concentrating on the investment management industry a plus)
Knowledge of partnership accounting.
- Knowledge of partnership tax reporting and tax issues.
- Experience working with registered private equity funds, a plus.
- Strong project management & time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet all required deadlines.
- Very detail oriented.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
