JOB TITLE: Director - GNMS & GCS Technical Advisory

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will assist in the development and deployment of accounting and/or process changes associated with technical accounting standards and Amex policies. These processes are critical to ensure the Company maintains effective financial controls, has financial reporting integrity, and meets the requirements of external regulators.

This position will work report to the VP - Technical Advisory Controller to assist the GNMS and GCS Business Unit Controllers office in ensuring proper integration of Global Policies with the respective business units. This position will assist in the setting of policy and development of operational strategies with regard to technical accounting; control over the accuracy and content of financial records; implementation of accounting policies and accounting decision support.
 

• CPA, with at least 7+ years of relevant technical accounting and/or policy experience; BIG 4 experience is preferred. 
• Proven ability to interpret and apply US GAAP. 
• Strong collaborative team player with ability to build and develop relationships. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of internal control environment
• Proven ability to operate in a matrixed environment, influencing decisions without authority
