Randolph C. Blazer

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer BearingPoint, Inc.

 

Mr. Blazer has served as Chief Executive Officer since April 2000, a member of the board since August 1999 and as chairman of the board since February 2001. Under Mr. Blazer's leadership, BearingPoint, Inc. became the first of the Big Five consulting firms to separate from its audit and tax parent and become an independent, publicly-traded company. Mr. Blazer has led the acquisitions of the consulting businesses of 20 non-US KPMG International practices and the negotiations to acquire selected Andersen Business Consulting units in 2002. From 1997 until April 2000, Mr. Blazer served as a member of a two-person executive team (serving as co-chief executive officer from August 1999 until April 2000) that led the consolidation of KPMG LLP’s global consulting practices into a single business unit. From 1991 until 1997, Mr. Blazer served as partner-in-charge of KPMG’s federal services consulting practice. In 1977, Mr. Blazer joined KPMG LLP as a consulting professional in the Washington, D.C. office.

 

 

Douglas C. Allred

Private investor; Former Senior Vice President, Office of the President, Cisco Systems, Inc.

 

Mr. Allred retired from his position as Senior Vice President, Office of the President of Cisco Systems, Inc. in late 2002. Previously, Mr. Allred served as Cisco System’s senior vice president of customer advocacy from 1991 until 2002, where he built up Cisco’s service business and led Cisco’s IT and Internet Business Solutions Consulting groups from 1991 to 2000. Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Allred was vice president of worldwide support for Oracle Corporation, served as CIO of a division of GE Credit (now GE Capital), and held senior systems and software development positions with Boeing and several other companies. Mr. Allred joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in January 2000. He also serves as a director of Saba Software Inc. (NASDAQ: SABAD), a software and Internet-based service provider company, and NextPage (a private startup), and sits on the advisory boards of Washington State University’s College of Engineering and Architecture, and the Rollins eBusiness Center at Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business

 

 

Betsy Bernard

Private investor; Former President, AT&T

 

From October 2002 to early December 2003, Ms. Bernard served as President of AT&T, where she led more than 50,000 employees within AT&T Business, a nearly $27 billion organization serving the needs of 4 million business customers. From April 2001 to October 2002, Ms. Bernard led the 12,000 employees of AT&T Consumer. Prior to joining AT&T, Ms. Bernard held senior executive positions with Qwest Communications, US WEST and Avirnex Communications Group. She appears for the third consecutive year on Fortune Magazine’s list of “50 Most Powerful Women in Business,” where she currently ranks 12th. Ms. Bernard joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in March 2004 and also serves on the boards of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), a global technology company serving the building systems and aerospace industries, URS Corporation (NYSE: URS), an engineering and technical services company, and The Principal Financial Group (NYSE: PFG), a global provider of retirement savings, investment and insurance products and services company. Wolfgang Kemna

Managing Director of Steeb Anwendungssysteme GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAP AG

 

Mr. Kemna has served in this capacity since March 2004. From 2002 to March 2004 he was Executive Vice President, Global Initiatives of SAP AG. Mr. Kemna was President and Chief Executive Officer of SAP America, Inc. from April 2000 to September 2002. He was also a member of SAP’s extended executive board from 2000 to March 2004 with responsibility for the Americas. Mr. Kemna began his career with SAP in 1987, and served as managing director at SAP’s German subsidiary responsible for sales and marketing efforts from July 1998 until April 2000. Between 1995 and 1998, Mr. Kemna headed SAP operations in Africa, the Middle East and the southeast of Europe. Mr. Kemna joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in April 2001.

 

 

Albert L. Lord

Vice Chairman and CEO, SLM Corp.

 

Mr. Lord has served in this position since 1997. SLM Corp. (commonly known as Sallie Mae) is the United States’ leading provider of education funding. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Lord was President and principal shareholder of LCL, Ltd, an investment and financial consulting firm. From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Lord held several executive positions at Sallie Mae, including Controller and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lord also serves on the boards of SS&C Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SSNC) and The National Academy Foundation. For the past three years, he has chaired School Night, Washington, D.C.’s largest fundraising event to support education for disadvantaged families. Mr. Lord joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in February 2003.

 

 

Roderick C. McGeary

Private investor; Former Co-Chief Executive Officer, KPMG Consulting, Inc.

 

Mr. McGeary was the Chief Executive Officer of Brience, Inc., a wireless and broadband company, from April 2000 to July 2002. From August 1999 until April 2000, Mr. McGeary served as co-chief executive officer and co-president of KPMG Consulting. From January 1997 to August 1999, Mr. McGeary served as co-chief executive officer of consulting for KPMG LLP, sharing this role with Mr. Blazer. From 1994 through 1996, he headed the west coast consulting business for KPMG LLP. Prior to 1994, Mr. McGeary served in a number of positions for KPMG LLP as a consulting partner and as an assurance partner. Mr. McGeary joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in August 1999, and also serves as a director of Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), a worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, GoRemote, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRIC), a provider of Internet-based mobile office communications solutions and BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a global provider of personalized self-service web applications.

 

 

Alice M. Rivlin

Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution; Professor, Public Policy Institute, Georgetown University; Former Vice Chair, Board of Governors, Federal Reserve System

 

Alice M. Rivlin is a Senior Fellow in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution. She is the Co-Director of the Greater Washington Research Program at Brookings. Ms. Rivlin is also a professor at the Public Policy Institute of Georgetown University. Ms. Rivlin was the Henry Cohen Professor of Urban Management and Policy at the Milano Graduate School of the New School University from 2001 to 2003. Before returning to Brookings, Ms. Rivlin served as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Board from 1996 to 1999. She was Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget from 1994 to 1996, and Deputy Director from 1993 to 1994. She served as Chair of the District of Columbia Financial Management Assistance Authority from 1998 until September 2001. Ms. Rivlin was the founding Director of the Congressional Budget Office, a position she held from 1975 to 1983. She also served at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare as Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation from 1968 to 1969. Ms. Rivlin joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in October 2001 and also serves on the board of directors of the Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO).

 

 

J. Terry Strange

Former Vice Chairman, KPMG LLP and former Global Managing Partner of the Audit Practice of KPMG International

 

Mr. Strange is a 34-year veteran of the professional services industry and recently retired from KPMG LLP, where he served as vice chair and managing partner of KPMG’s US audit practice from 1996 to 2002. During this period, he also served as the global managing partner of the audit practice and was a member of KPMG International’s executive committee. Mr. Strange foresaw the importance of separating consulting from the tax and audit functions in an audit firm and is also credited with institutionalizing strong central control of KPMG’s professional practices, policies and procedures during an important time in the accounting profession. Prior to 1996, Mr. Strange held several management positions within KPMG LLP. He began his career at KPMG LLP in 1968. Mr. Strange joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in April 2003. Mr. Strange also serves on the board of directors of Compass Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBSS), a financial services company, Group 1 Automotive, Inc., (NYSE: GPI), a Fortune 500 automotive retailer, and New Jersey Resources Corporation (NYSE: NJR), a Fortune 1000 energy-services company.
