SSP, a leading global provider of insurance technology, and Capgemini, have entered into a services agreement that will enable general insurers to accelerate their digital ambition and replace legacy systems. Nigel Walsh, Vice President and Head of UK Insurance, Capgemini, walked us through some of the announcement’s highlights.
What’s the history of the relationship between Capgemini and SSP?
Capgemini started working with SSP over 12 months ago to support a growing number of new implementations, providing key roles including program management, testing, integration and domain SMEs. Since then we have engaged on joint sales engagements in the UK and other geographies.
What digital needs is the arrangement to address?
As carriers move to update their business models to address the needs of the new digital consumer, SSP and Capgemini can help by combining Capgemini’s knowledge and understanding of digital opportunities and best practices with SSP’s next generation insurance solutions. The key themes include flexible and responsive customer experiences and journeys, true omnichannel distribution and service, sophisticated data enrichment, rating and pricing, and product flexibility and agility.
How will it work?
Following on from the original engagements, Capgemini and SSP recognize a series of strong
opportunities in the UK and other key insurance markets around the world:
1) Capgemini will support existing and new SSP customers in the development, delivery, hosting and support of Select implementation.
2) Capgemini will support existing SSP clients through their upgrade and migration process to the latest SSP platforms.
3) SSP and Capgemini will go to market together to engage new customers looking to enhance their general insurance capabilities, to enable them to lead in their chosen markets.
What’s in the future?
The initial focus is on customer solutions implementations involving SSP Select Insurance and SSP Intelligent Quotes Hub (IQH), in response to high customer demand. Looking forward, the partnership will be extended to include Pure Insurance and SSP Broker software solutions.
