Deloitte: New Central Texas Managing Partner Appointed
December 6, 2012
By Rob Starr, Content Manager, Big4.com
Deloitte, the largest professional services organization in the United States, has appointed Kathleen Farlow managing partner of its Central Texas region, which includes Austin and San Antonio. Farlow joined Deloitte more than 29 years ago and continues to serve as lead tax partner for several clients and high net-worth individuals. In addition to her client service roles, she is currently the Partner Matters national partner for Deloitte Tax LLP as well as the lead relationship partner for The University of Texas at Austin, which includes serving on the dean of the McCombs School of Business’ Advisory Council and the UT Accounting Department Advisory Council. Farlow was named UT Accounting Department 2012 Texas Star for her continuing support of its programs.
“Returning to central Texas is like a homecoming for me,” Farlow said. “I attended graduate school at UT and have roots and family in this part of the state. The greater Austin and San Antonio marketplaces continue to attract a variety of established enterprises and start-up ventures seeking to capitalize on the region’s keen interest in innovation and technology. With the tremendous growth in technology, state government initiatives, military related training, health care and cyber defense — Central Texas is a great location to watch the future unfold and for Deloitte to be a part of it.”
