POSITION SUMMARY
The Property Tax Assistant is responsible for processing business personal/ real property tax bills and entering assessments utilizing Property Tax Management Software (PTMS), scanning various documents, mailing out property tax renditions and checks to corresponding jurisdictions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Entering business personal/ real property tax bills in compliance with various state and local due dates
- Entering business personal/ real property assessments in compliance with appeal due dates
- Scanning of tax bills and assessments
- Timely submission of AR and AP reports to the client and GT's internal departments
- Communicating with client regarding Escrow Accounts wire requests
- Reconciliation of AP reports to Quick Books "Check Registry" reports
- Mailing tax payments
- Assist with mailing of property tax returns
- Handle the data entry of client and assignment information into the financial management system.
- Prepare various spreadsheets and reports.
- Participate in the implementation of Tax Symphony.
- Respond to partner/client inquires and special projects.
- Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
- Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Associates degree a plus or equivalent work experience.
- Five years of client oriented experience in a professional services firm.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and email communication.
- Willing to take on additional responsibility as assigned.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
