WILLOUGHBY HILLS UNIVERSAL BANKER
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
In support of the banking convenience strategy, provides professional, superior sales and services to existing and potential customers. Creates a positive customer relationship by effectively communicating a clear understanding of the benefits of the product and services offered. Responsibilities & service includes: answer telephone inquiries, process transactions, opens and maintains accounts of all types, analyze application, evaluates credit worthiness, and customizes products to fit customer need. Expands FirstMerit's customer base. Make outbound teleconsulting calls. Follow bank and regulatory policies and procedures. Promote and maintain teamwork.
Sales and Service Accountability
Achieve or exceed assigned branch service and sales goals by meeting with customers to assess their financial needs, building customer relationships, selling and cross-selling a full range of services, partnering with the personal banker, maintaining knowledge of all existing and new bank products and services. Open accounts i.e., checking, savings, CDs IRAs, fiduciary and business accounts. Process loan applications, work with Consumer Underwriting and Consumer Centralized Doc Prep regarding loan submission and closing. Assist Platform / Line Sales and Service with loan closings. Assist customers with problem resolution, including account reconciliation. Transform service transactions to sales opportunities. Proactively educate customers on utilizing available access channels (i.e. ATM, Internet Banking, Bill Pay, Mobile Banking, etc.) and act as the subject matter expert for the branch.
Branch Team Operations Support
Perform teller and other transactions when needed to support business operations. Provide routine services which include address changes, check orders, stop payments, affidavits, and indemnity agreements, etc. Prepare Wire Transfers/Domestic Bond collections/Savings Bonds.
Perform administrative duties, order supplies through DBS System. Track referrals to Mortgage, Bankcard and Investments. Work Negative Balance report. Authorize safe deposit box entries. Sell new boxes, closes surrendered boxes, assists with inventories and follows up on delinquent rentals. Pull closed accounts and print branch emails. Open incoming mail, serve as Merchandising Coordinator. Complete required forms including distribution, filing.
TYPICALLY REQUIRES :
High school graduate or equivalent with 2 or more years banking/teller experience, or related sales experience. Ability to achieve sales growth production goals by thoughtfully marketing the appropriate financial products and services to individual customers based on their financial needs and circumstances. Strong communication and customer service skills both verbal and written. Demonstrated aptitude and desire for sales achievement. Superior customer relationship building skills. Ability to function in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to successfully register with the National Mortage Licensing System (NMLS).

PREFERRED :
Thorough knowledge of all bank services, regulatory policies and procedures. Knowledge of the benefits of financial planning, estate planning, wealth services, investment services, credit and insurance planning position as well as the general provisions under the Employee Career Opportunity Program.
