Application Architect- eGovernment Settlement Services

Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists within The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland to serve as an Application Architect in the eGovernment (eGov) Settlement Services department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of software applications; including architectural design, systems performance, project interfaces, enhancements, and systems maintenance.  The individual will also be responsible for leading team members.

Essential Accountabilities:

  Analyze complex systems and categorize into manageable components.

  Plan implementation strategies and assess difficulty levels. Evaluate long-term implications of design choices. 

  Evaluate the business requirements, scalability, performance standards and ongoing support and maintenance criteria of the project.

  Evaluate changes in business requirements and their impact on overall application design and relevant internal and external interfaces.

  Develop technical specifications and detail designs.

  Determine project schedules and assess project milestones.  

  Monitor and ensure the quality of the code base.

  Identify technical risks and opportunities.

  Provide effective communication of technical issues to all program stakeholders.

  Provide technical direction and leadership for development team.

  Act as a technical point of contact for other teams.

  Provide expertise and leadership to develop overall integration architecture for layers of a solution which might span business process, systems, hardware, operating systems, applications and networking environments, as well as platforms

  Develop technical integration strategies and architectures with supporting analysis & documentation. Present findings and recommendations to executive decision maker

  Conduct gap analysis, infrastructure assessments and cost benefit analysis.

  Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

   Adhere to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or

  related field.

  8 + years of related work experience.

  Required:  Strong interest and experience in leading edge technology, products and methodology, including being at the forefront of what is happening in the industry.

  Required:  Experience with different software development methodologies (agile and waterfall).

  Required:  Excellent and proven conceptual, analytical and planning skills.

  Required:  Experienced hands-on architect experience with strong and diverse technical background.

  Required: Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate business and technical issues with senior management, peers, and outside parties.

  Required: Excellent documentation skills.

  Required:  Must be able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
