Sr. Technical Accountant

Edmunds.com, the authoritative Internet resource for automotive-related content, is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to work at its Santa Monica headquarters. Reporting to the Controller, this candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, technical accounting research and implementation, managing external financial audit, and maintaining internal controls procedures.

What You’ll Do:
• Prepare monthly financial statement package, bank covenant reporting, and other financial reporting obligations
• Stay current with recent accounting pronouncements and assess impact to the business
• Research and interpret accounting standards and advise on accounting treatment for various business transactions
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
• Develop and maintain corporate wide accounting policies and procedures
• Interact with external auditors and prepare year-end audited financial statements including comprehensive footnote disclosures
• Improve and implement internal control procedures, including the development of an effective internal audit process
• Assist with accounting-related projects as assigned

What You Need:
• Active CPA or CPA candidate required
• Public accounting experience in a Big4 firm required
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in a financial accounting and audit environment
• Strong technical accounting background and comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Must be detailed oriented and possess highly refined organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate efficiently in a deadline driven and results oriented environment
• Ability to work effectively with functional leaders in the department
