The Finance Supervisor provides support to monthly financial closing, business reporting and modeling of alternatives to help the Business leadership make appropriate financial business decision making, and sound, innovative planning in managing the division’s financial affairs to maximize long-term profits, cash flow and total return to Nordson shareholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of the monthly closing efforts to produce accurate and complete financial records, in compliance with US GAAP standards. Supports the financial planning effort for the businesses, including forecasting. Develops scenario analyses as needed, recommends plans, and improves forecast accuracy. Leads the businesses’ development of business metrics and tracks performance over time. Provide guidance and management to the ICS finance team and other financial support groups to prioritize tasks and requirements. Support the ICS management team in financial analysis and requests in support of projects, capital requirements, and expense planning or data collection. Develops and improves accounting and control policies, procedures, work processes and reporting systems to support growth and efficiency, while reducing complexity and increasing speed. Supports the effort of establishing, monitoring, and enforcing an effective internal controls environment. Develops and takes necessary actions to support Nordson’s SOX compliance effort. Liaises with external auditors. Works in close partnership with the business management team and Continuous Improvement Team in establishing and managing the strategic direction and financial goals (profit, cash flow, working capital) to drive breakthrough results. Utilizes appropriate financial analysis techniques, data and prudent assumptions to evaluate investment opportunities and ensures healthy return on investments while managing risks.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business Administration or other BA degrees with MBA and relevant experience. Minimum of 6 years experience in general accounting, financial analysis/planning is required. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred Experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Microsoft Office experience, including advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint and knowledge of general ledger and ERP systems is required. Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and to implement process improvements that generate timesavings through automation and standardization. SAP knowledge is preferred Ability to anticipate and effectively plan work in an independent manner Excellent analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to adjust to a flexible environment and consistently meet deadlines International exposure and foreign language fluency a plus
