October 16, 2012
By Rob Starr, Content Manager, Big4.com
Over the next three years, Accenture will provide the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) with management consulting and IT services supporting all AIFA processes for administration and medical technology. This comes as a result of being awarded a new contract to develop, build and maintain an integrated Medicine Evaluation System.
Gianmario Pisanu, who leads Accenture’s Health & Public Service business in Italy commented:
“This contract reinforces our commitment to the Italian public sector and government and it underscores Accenture’s deep knowledge of the healthcare industry,” he said. “Accenture will use its broad industry skills and insights from our global network to support AIFA’s mission to protect public health, provide greater access to innovative treatment and promote research and innovation. We will help our client build an integrated system that reflects the needs of an organization as complex as AIFA. In this task, we are helped by our significant experience in central and local health administrative processes, international best-practices and high performance in the public sector.”
This project, which will implement innovative technical solutions for AIFA and strengthen relationships with its stakeholders (patients, civil society, institutions and pharmaceutical companies), confirms AIFA’s commitment to innovation, positioning the Agency at the forefront of European medicine agencies.
