Ernst & Young was recently honored for its expansion of diversity management efforts on a global basis, and the organization’s ability to remain locally sensitive to cultural beliefs while creating an inclusive workplace culture. DiversityInc recognized the global Ernst & Young organization as the Top Company for Global Cultural Competence at an awards dinner recently, concluding the first of its two-day event series in New York City titled Diversity-Management Best Practices From the Best of the Best.

Throughout the dinner, DiversityInc recognized eight companies that exceeded the levels of leadership and innovation that determine diversity management success. The awards were based on an analysis of data submitted as part of the annual DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity survey, as well as an examination of the organizations’ initiatives by the DiversityInc editorial staff.

Steve Howe, Ernst & Young Americas Area Managing Partner, who accepted the award, commented:

“Ernst & Young takes great pride in being the most globally integrated professional services organization, and diversity and inclusiveness are fundamental to maintaining this competitive advantage,” he said. “We need to be global leaders to serve our clients effectively, and we couldn’t do that without an inclusive environment that respects and involves all cultures. This is why inclusiveness is at the top of our agenda — and why we’re thrilled to accept this award from DiversityInc.”
