Accenture to Augment Customer Service Levels of South West Water

Under a 10-year contract between Accenture and South West Water, Accenture will increase the billing and customer care services, as well as manage the back-office functions of South West Water. As per the new contract, Accenture will facilitate South West Water to augment its workforce performance, business process and technology in order to enhance the level of service for its client base in Cornwall, Devon and some areas of Somerset and Dorset counties in U.K.

South West Water shall leverage applications and assets, training methods and process models developed by the Accenture Utilities BPO Services. It also offers same type of services to several utility clients in the United Kingdom and North America. Monica Read, the customer service director of South West Water said, "We are delighted to have chosen a partner whose strategic objectives to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient customer services and collections align so closely with our own Pure Service objectives." She further said that they believe collaboration with Accenture would certainly deliver better consumer experience.

Keith Mueller, the managing director of Accenture Utilities BPO Services, said that South West Water is taking steps to innovate, seek and modernize the most successful means to deliver good services to the clients. He further said that they will create a United Kingdom showcase of the technology, process and performance models that Accenture Utilities BPO Services has developed over the past years along with utility businesses all over the world. Accenture will undertake phased transition of the collections of South West Water in the coming ten weeks.
