Accenture Finds Graduating Students Concerned About Job Prospects

According to a new study released by Accenture, the majority of undergraduates graduating from colleges in U.S feel that a tentative economy may effect their job prospects. The study revealed that nearly seventy-one percent of the respondents feel that a flagging economy will decrease their chance of getting jobs after completing graduation.

About seventy-three percent of

the respondents declared that they were likely to find a good job of their choice after graduation. About sixty-six percent said that they will complete their graduation while taking student loans, while approximately twenty-eight percent said that they want to live with their parents after graduation. The key benefits respondents are looking for from employers include health insurance, challenging and interesting work, the opportunity to tour, flexible work hours, a companionship with colleagues and salary.

David Smith, the managing director of Accenture's Talent & Organization Performance practice in the North America said, "Generation Y is entering the workforce with strong values and demands that employers haven't had to address with previous generations." He further said that employers should find various means to suit their requirements for fun, balance and mentoring. The study also revealed that nearly forty-six percent of the graduating students declared they want to work less than forty-hours each week, and about thirty-seven percent said they might be overworked by the employers.
