Bob Hirth, a senior managing director with Protiviti (www.protiviti.com), a global consulting firm, has been inducted by The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) into the Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners.
Hirth’s career has spanned more than 30 years of business auditing and consulting. He has worked with a broad range of global, public and private organizations to assess and improve their risk management, reporting, controls and governance.
A founding member of Protiviti, Hirth served as executive vice president of global internal audit for the last several years. He has performed internal audit services and consultation to more than 100 organizations, including start-up and transformation, quality assurance reviews, operations audits, audit committee support, fraud investigations and risk assessment.
His contributions to the internal auditing profession include serving as the San Francisco IIA chapter president and multiple terms on the San Francisco chapter of The IIA Board of Governors, as well as other volunteer positions for IIA organizations.

The induction ceremony of the eight Hall nominees took place on Monday, March 18 at The IIA’s 2013 General Audit Management Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
