Tommy Gainey, is the winner of the 2012 McGladrey Classic. He shot a course record ten under par 60. Gainey has never won a PGA TOUR event, and has two Web.com victories in his career – his last in 2010. He first competed on the PGA Tour in 2008 and played full-time on the Web.com Tour in 2010. His two Web.com victories that year put him in 4th place on the money list and secured his PGA TOUR card. He has been playing full time on the PGA TOUR since he secured his card in 2010.
In the 2012 McGladrey Classic, Tommy Gainey broke the course record with a 60. He is the first player to shoot 60 in the final round of a PGA TOUR event since 2001. Gainey’s 60 is the sixth on TOUR since 2007 (Zach Johnson has two of them).
Bob Gerardi, chief marketing officer for McGladrey comments:
“Like the first two years, this third year of The McGladrey Classic was a success by any measure,” he said. “We knew the bar was set high for this year’s event, and once again it exceeded all expectations. Many of our clients and potential clients enjoy watching and playing the game of golf, and The McGladrey Classic continues to be a great opportunity for us to connect with them.”
