Governance, Risk & Compliance is new and fast-growing at Thomson Reuters business. Governance, Risk & Compliance is positioned with the Legal business of the Professional division and works with businesses across Thomson Reuters including the Markets division to leverage the full capabilities of Thomson Reuters.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Manager is responsible for the Thomson Reuters Governance, Risk & Compliance business units Risk Domain Solutions. In this role the Product Manager will advise on software product strategy and direction to enhance the risk management capabilities of the Enterprise GRC application. The Product Manger will also be active in researching risk management best practices,tracking market trends, and collecting customer input to inform software product functionality priorities. This role will also provide risk advisory and domain knowledge across the organization in the context of internal audit, operational risk management, and compliance business processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and manage the product strategy and direction for the Risk Management Solutions
- Work with executive leadership on developing a product roadmap for Risk Management Solutions
- Document business requirements and use cases for the development of new features in the product Risk Management Solutions
- Identify innovative ways to solve business issues related to Risk Management for Thomson Reuters clients and prospects
- Manage the on-going activities associated with a released product
- Strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through and ability to respond to last minute requests
- Serve as a Risk Management domain and subject matter consultant for all parts of the organization including support, sales, marketing, and professional services
- Availability to travel (up to 15% of time)
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of the normal business hours in order to support the global needs of the business
- Other duties as directed by management
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting, Finance or business related field
- Industry related certification preferred (CPA/CA, CIA, CMA, RICS)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A minimum of six to eight years of financial, operational, and/or public accounting, and/or risk management experience
- Proven experience developing, designing, and executing detailed test instructions to assess the control effectiveness within the business
- Proven experience with conducting risk assessments, and assessing the adequacy of policies, procedures, processes, and compliance and operational controls.
- Previous project management experience
- Proficient in MS Office
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Proven knowledge of internal audit reporting systems
- Knowledge of working with and proficiency in audit, risk management , or compliance systems
- Proven knowledge of compliance and operational risk management models, techniques and standards
- Strong background in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and program improvement
- Experience using an integrated GRC system
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to develop software expertise quickly
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills – quickly analyze date to identify key insights and apply them to the business; ability to develop convincing business cases and product strategy
- Proven ability to influence others and build consensus in a highly matrixed organization
- Ability to handle objections and counter professionally is necessary
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of management
