Purpose: As a Senior Tax Specialist see yourself supporting the Director and Managers of Income Tax in compliance with FAS 109, Accounting for Income Taxes, and FIN 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes. Conducting research on income tax matters and proposed business transactions in their formative state and recommending course of action to achieve optimum tax position for the Corporation. Performing a review of various income tax returns and reports prepared by tax analysts and specialists

Supporting the Director and Managers of Income Tax in compliance with FAS 109, Accounting for Income Taxes, and FIN 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes
Filling a leadership role in the tax department; reviewing returns, payments and annual reports which have been prepared by Analysts or Specialists; providing constructive feedback to return preparers
Conducing research on income tax matters. Interpreting statutes, rulings, regulations and court cases in the context of the operations of the Corporation. Communicating the results of the research to management
Studying proposed business transactions in their formative state and recommending course of action to achieve optimum position for the Corporation
Working with Target’s Financial Planning and Forecasting team to forecast tax payments and tax goals
Working closely with the Income Tax Audit Managers to resolve potential tax controversies
Reviewing Operating Company accounting and record retention practices related to tax areas. Communicating any necessary changes in accounting policies to financial reporting
Preparing tax returns as assigned
Performing and assisting in performance of projects as assigned
Performing other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in accounting
Eight to ten years tax experience in large corporation tax department or equivalent in tax practice with a public accounting firm
Strong accounting, communication, organization, and leadership skills
