Purpose:  As a Manager, Financial Accounting and Control, you will manage Accounts Receivable and Payments processes ensuring the monthly balances are properly reported and controlled. You will be responsible for Accounts Receivable and Payment functions including daily, weekly, and monthly balancing of the Target Card, Business Card, Target Visa, and Target Check Card. You are also responsible for guiding best practices in reporting, accounting, and internal controls.

  • Managing the maintenance and research of all daily, weekly or monthly system and accounting issues related to Target Card, Business Card, Target Visa, and Target Check Card
  • Monitoring and ensuring that TFS systems and daily controls over cash and receivables are functioning as required
  • Ensuring all credit sales and related transactions processed are controlled and balanced
  • Managing the month end Payments and Accounts Receivable close process
  • Overseeing the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations ensuring they are completed accurately and on-time
  • Partnering with TFS Business Systems, TTS, TSYS, and other business partners to resolve system and accounting issues
  • Developing on-going system/process improvements to streamline current department procedures and challenging the status quo
  • Managing all Visa related accounting activity including the analysis of Visa fees, Visa interchange revenue, and other Visa analysis as needed
  • Providing support and assistance to examiners including Target Assurance, external auditors and bank examiners as it relates to A/R Control
  • Supporting the integration of Securitization Reporting within the TFS organization
  • Supporting TTS, TSYS and TFS in the planning, development and implementation of new TFS systems and marketing programs as it relates to TFS accounting
  • Analyzing and ensuring any system changes will function properly in the accounting area and that controls are maintained

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four year college degree Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 7-9 years work experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated, strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and credibility
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong PC skills and aptitude
  • Supervisory experience
