Purpose: Responsible for Target Corporations external financial reporting (EFR) functions including the following four major areas:
Responsible for managing the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including
Annual Report
Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A)
Financial Statements
Responsible for managing the preparation, validation, and distribution of Target Corporation’s quarterly earnings release and related senior management supporting schedules.
Responsible for analyzing new accounting and reporting guidance issued by the FASB, SEC, EITF and other standard setting bodies to determine implication on financial operations and reporting and for communicating these issues to key management.
Responsible for working with external auditors during the audit process and as issues arise.

Managing the preparation, validation, and distribution of the Target Corporation consolidation, earnings release financial statements and supporting senior management schedules, and quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A.
Managing EFR preparation of schedules required by external auditors.
Acting as a consultant on new strategy initiatives to ensure understanding of the proper accounting and reporting.
Managing the preparation of the monthly and quarter balance sheet and cash flow statements.
Coordinating issuance of comfort letters by external auditors in connection with debt and equity offerings.
Preparing or supervising preparation of financial accounting research as requested by all areas of the company and as the result of new and proposed accounting pronouncements.
Supervising, developing and managing workload of a staff of Senior External Reporting Analysts who are responsible for performing technical accounting research, LIFO accounting, accounting consolidation and financial statement preparation, capital lease accounting and other duties.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
4-Year college degree - Accounting, Business, or Economics
CPA, with 6-8 years of experience in a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm
Management experience
Demonstrated, strong technical accounting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain a positive work environment
