We are seeking a Tax Partner for the Raleigh NC office of one of the 8 largest accounting firms in the country. The firm is rapidly growing with a focus on middle-market. Our ideal candidate is currently a Tax Partner with a national or regional accounting firm, experienced in providing tax advisory services, managing federal tax engagements for middle market clients in a broad base of commercial industries, developing new and existing client relationships and providing leadership to a staff of 10 tax professionals. And already has ties to Raleigh, NC. CPA or JD required. Compensation is competitive, and relocation assistance is available.
Position Description
The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to help expand the Tax Services business with the focus entirely on offering a broad range of tax services to mid-sized business clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
Providing business advice to help clients increase shareholder value. Will serve as a client confidante, spending majority of time on tax consulting, versus compliance issues. The Tax Partner will deliver timely, high-quality profitable services that appropriately utilize staff resources.
Demonstrating commitment to the firm people philosophy through modeling character, competence, and commitment in all interactions. The Tax Partner will also attract, develop and retain top talent.
Developing relationships that result in new clients for the firm. The Tax Partner will promote new ideas and services that result in extended services to existing clients.
Demonstrating leadership in the firm, the professional and the community, as well as demonstrating "one firm" behavior.
Demonstrating expertise in appropriate industry and functional areas. The Tax Partner will develop personal competency through continuous learning and development.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry/law.
The successful candidate may currently be a Partner in a public accounting firm who has a focus on mid-sized business clients or a partner-track director with a focus on the middle market and who possesses the skills necessary to transition into a Partner role.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of practice building and management, and will be an experienced and effective manager of professionals at all levels.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding and the experience or ability to effectively identify, sell and deliver tax services to mid-sized business clients.
To be considered, candidates must have:
Ten years' experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry/law.
Experience working with middle market clients.
Extensive contacts with executives in industry, and adept at marketing and selling tax services at the most senior levels in client organizations.
Ability to think strategically and assist in the organization and management of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as the ability to sell additional tax services to clients.
A proven record in directly generating and sustaining client relationships, yielding a meaningful level of revenue/margin contribution.
Strong technical skills in tax services.
CPA or tax attorney (JD).
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
Preferred, but Not Required: A Master of Science in taxation is a plus.
