Chief Accounting Officer

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will assume a highly visible and mission critical role within Thornburg Mortgage. The successful candidate will have proven management skills, 5-10 years of public accounting experience and 5+ years of financial services experience. This position combines both strategic and tactical management and implementation. The successful candidate will be an individual with strong conceptual skills, broad technical knowledge and well-developed interpersonal skills.


The primary job function of the CAO is to provide strategic and tactical leadership in one or more areas of functional specialization. This includes the ability to lead teams in their functional areas of expertise, as well as direct, manage, plan and administer the operational and administrative activities for the area of responsibility. This individual will oversee all accounting, tax, internal and external reporting, financial planning, budgeting and analysis within Thornburg Mortgage.
