Exelon Generation is currently seeking a Supervising Accountant for our Kennett Square, PA location.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Support accounting operations by overseeing various accounting functions at Exelon Generation.

Produce accurate and timely financial statements for Exelon Generation and Subsidiaries.

Assist staff in recording and reporting financial transactions accurately and timely.

Work closely and liaise with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assists in Exelon monthly financial statement close process, ensures financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, and reviews and analyzes financial results.

Reviews and approves account reconciliations for Exelon Generation entities.

Reviews and approves the monthly reporting packages for corporate entities including the analysis of current actual results to prior period actual results for Exelon and its subsidiaries for use in Board and Senior Management reporting and external reporting.

Assist in the recording of complex accounting transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP at corporate entities, as well as, Exelon as a whole.

Assists in the accounting, analysis and budgeting of various centrally maintained accounts including post retirement benefits, stock based compensation, separation plans and other employee benefit related activities.

Assists in operational accounting matters across all business units.

Consults and liaises with operating unit finance personnel on accounting issues.

Assists in special projects and special requests as required for the Controller's Group.

Interacts with internal and external auditors, Corporate Controller's Department and business units as required to accomplish goals.

Supervises the accounting staff and participates in their annual goal setting and performance reviews.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.

Minimum of 6+ years experience in accounting, financial reporting or public accounting.

Supervisory experience.

Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements.

Internal accounting controls acumen.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Effective teambuilding and leaderships skills.

Demonstrated project management skills.

Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity.

Exudes a high degree of professionalism and treats others with respect.

Preferred:
MBA in Finance, Accounting or Economics.

CPA.

Public Accounting experience a big plus.

Utility industry experience.

Financial Statement Consolidations experience.

Derivative Accounting experience is strongly preferred.
