Monsanto has an immediate opening for a Tax Manager (International Tax) for its International Tax Team in St. Louis, Missouri. Work will involve international aspects of the U.S. Federal income tax compliance and the tax accounting for Monsanto's ex-U.S. operations.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide compliance and planning support associated with the utilization of foreign tax credits including foreign source income analysis, as well as the allocation and apportionment of expenses for foreign tax credit purposes under section 861.
  • Assist with the analysis and computation of domestic manufacturing deduction under section 199.
  • Review and analysis of ex-US tax packages of Monsanto's foreign subsidiaries including preparation and review of earnings and profits computations.
  • Review, analysis and completion of US information reporting requirements for Monsanto's ex-US operations including Forms 5471, 8858 and 8865.
  • Assist with review and analysis of Subpart F and dividend income.
  • Assist and support quarterly and yearend tax provision process including review and analysis of effective tax rate of Monsanto's foreign subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate with the Tax Provision, Federal and State Tax Teams to ensure informational needs are met.
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing tax strategies that minimize tax expense, maximize tax deferrals, and properly report tax results to assist the Company in reaching its business objectives.



Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 or more years of tax experience in a public accounting or corporate tax environment including at least 2 years of international tax experience.
  • CPA preferred.


 

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of GAAP reporting, SOX, FAS 109 and FIN 48.
  • Team player with strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; self-motivated individual with ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent work ethic, eager to learn and a positive attitude are key.
  • Challenges self and others to continuously seek process improvements while producing a high quality work product.
  • Requires ability to obtain critical information from diverse and multi-cultural organization in a timely fashion.
  • Knowledge of/experience with TaxStream and Corptax is also a plus. B.S. in Accounting/Finance. CPA preferred.
